PLAINVIEW, NY — Police arrested three teens and seized drugs worth a reported $500,000 Tuesday after officers conducted an investigation into the non-fatal overdose of a high school student, according to Nassau Police. Detectives identified the narcotics seller as 18-year-old Kevin Staiano of Plainview, police said.
At about 8:35 p.m., detectives stopped a car in which Staiano was a passenger. Following an investigation, Staiano and the driver — 18-year-old Brandon Bromberg, also of Plainview — were arrested.
Officers found a backpack containing 1,025 Xanax pills, 131 broken pieces of Xanax, 73 grams of psilocybin mushrooms, 42 grams of Ketamine, 5 grams of MDMA, 5 grams of cocaine, 1 gram of DMT, 45 tabs of acid, 50 grams of marijuana and four ecstasy pills in the car, police said.
In their search of an apartment Staiano rented with 19-year-old Nicholas Gennaro of Whitestone, police found additional drugs: 1,250 grams of mushrooms, 70 grams of Ketamine, 7 grams of cocaine, 1 gram of Adderall, 14 grams of dimethyltryptamine, 360 grams of MDMA, four pounds of marijuana, 2,133 Xanax pills, 1,672 Ecstasy pills, 1,841 Roxicodone pills and 3,150 tabs of acid. Police also seized more than $8,000 in cash, and Gennaro was arrested at the scene.
Staiano is charged with 19 counts of second-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance. Bromberg is charged with second-degree criminal facilitation and seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance. Gennaro is charged with 11 counts of second- and third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance.
Both will be arraigned on Wednesday.
