A Johnston bank was robbed at gunpoint Friday morning, according to police.
At about 10:30 a.m., Johnston police were called to Bank Iowa at 5525 Merle Hay Road.
A man had entered the bank and displayed a handgun, demanding money. After getting an undisclosed amount of cash, he fled on foot heading eastbound.
Local police departments were unable to find the suspect.
The suspect is around 35 to 40 years old. He is between 5 feet 8 inches and 5 feet 11 inches with “light brown bushy hair,” according to police.
He was wearing a tan or light-colored T-shirt with a black vest, black pants and black tennis shoes.
