AUSTIN (KXAN) — Austin Police are investigating a bank robbery in east Austin Saturday morning.
Police said they received the call at 9:06 a.m. at the BBVA Compass Bank at 5720 Cameron Road when a panic alarm was pushed at the bank.
Officers arrived on the scene three minutes later.
They said the male suspect, around five-foot six, came into the bank wearing a hoodie and a mask while customers were inside and showed a weapon. Police said he took an unknown amount of cash and ran out of the building immediately after.
This is the second time the bank has been robbed in recent weeks, officers said, and it’s the 10th bank robbery of the year.
Officers want to remind you to be aware of your surroundings at all times.
