DANVILLE — Authorities are asking for the public’s help in finding a suspect in a bank robbery Tuesday.

Around 2:20 p.m., a man walked into Wells Fargo Bank, 3402 Camino Tassajara, gave a teller a note demanding money and fled with an undisclosed amount of cash.

The man was last seen running through the parking lot of a nearby Safeway grocery store.

Police described the man as African-American in his mid- to late-20s, with a skinny to medium build and a facial deformity around one eye, and wearing blue jeans, a black shirt with a white stripe along the sleeves and a black beanie.

Police released images of the man captured by the bank’s surveillance-camera system, and asked anyone with information to call Detective Sgt. Ron Hoekwater at 925-314-3700.
