Golden bank’s float and greet | Ireland

The new Central Bank of Ireland office has been described as gold-plated but staff had a frugal welcome to the neighbourhood at North Wall Quay, Dublin.

A breakdown of the €127m spent on the headquarters so far shows that the bank laid out €1,000 on “team engagement and recognition” on the Cill Airne, a boat moored on the Liffey that houses a bar and restaurant. The Central Bank also spent €2,000 on communications materials and €4,000 on “various taxi costs”.
