Harlingen police search for suspect in bank robbery

The Harlingen Police Department is searching for a man involved in a bank robbery Friday afternoon.

At 1:54 p.m., Harlingen police received a call concerning a robbery at the Bank of America on east Van Buren Avenue.

According to police, a man entered the bank, and presented a note to bank clerks demanding money.

An undisclosed amount of money was given to the man, according to police.

The man took the money, and left the bank on foot going east through an alley, according to police.

Harlingen police described the subject as a black male around 6’2″ wearing an orange shirt, blue jeans and a blue hat.
