Lockdown lifted at Chase Bank facility on Polaris Parkway after report of man with a gun

COLUMBUS, Ohio (WSYX/WTTE) — Police are investigating a report of a man with a gun at a bank in north Columbus on Tuesday morning.

Witnesses told police they saw a person with a gun on their waist at the northwest corner of the bank in the 1100 block of Polaris Parkway. The man wasn’t threatening anyone and did not enter the building, witnesses said.

Officers responded to the scene, but have yet to find a person with a weapon.

The lockdown remained in place for over an hour, but police said they aren’t aware of any imminent danger or threat.

Officials said the lockdown was lifted around 1 p.m. Tuesday.
