Luke Kuechly suffered an injury against the Eagles late in the first half of Carolina’s Thursday night matchup. Kuechly was being evaluated for a concussion, did not come out for the second half of the game, and would later be ruled out.

Last season, Kuechly played in just 10 games. He suffered a concussion in Week 11 against the Saints, and missed the rest of the season. He also suffered a concussion in Week 1 in 2015, which forced him to miss time. His injuries were a part of the Panthers’ drop off in 2016.
Kuechly was one of the anchors of the Panthers’ defense in 2015, when the team had a 15-1 season and went to the Super Bowl before ultimately losing to the Denver Broncos.
This season, Kuechly has 29 tackles and one interception for a Panthers defense that came into Thursday’s game third in the NFL in total defense.
