Florida mother gives birth to a 6kg baby and say’s ‘I’m done!’
AN AMERICAN mother knew her stomach was undeniably huge when she approached her due date.
But Christine Corbitt from Florida didn’t know just how big until Carleigh Brooke arrived via C-section last month weighing in at 13 pounds, 5 ounces (6kg).
“It looked like they pulled a toddler out of my belly,” Ms Corbitt tells Action News Jax.
“I’ve had nine- and 10- pound babies and I figured maybe she’d be 10 pounds, but she was a surprise,” said Corbitt, saying she heard laughter as the doctor was delivering the baby.
“When the baby was coming out, I was like ‘is this baby ever going to end?’”
Husband Larry says the nappies they had didn’t fit baby Carleigh. She’s is already wearing a size three nappy.
He says the baby’s due date wasn’t until May 20 or 21, so she would have been even bigger had she not arrived early.
The couple agrees that their newest baby is “gorgeous” but will probably be their last.
“I’m done, I’m done,” she says.
“No more babies for me.”
In January, a newborn baby in Victoria tipped the scales at 6kg.
Natashia Corrigan’s fourth child surprised doctors and nurses when born.
Baby Brian Liddle Junior was the heaviest baby ever born at the Mercy Hospital for Women in Heidelberg.
