PNB: Gokulnath Shetty reportedly shared bank password with Nirav Modi’s employees: Times Now report

The Rs 11,000-crore Punjab National Bank scam is turning murkier and murkier with every passing day. New details emerging from the CBI questioning of Gokulnath Shetty and others have revealed explosive details of how the mega scam was carried out.

The questioning revealed that Shetty had access to level 5 password of SWIFT messaging system through which messages were sent to foreign branches of other banks and that he reportedly shared the password with emloyees of Nirav Modi‘s companies, Times Now quoted CBI sources as saying.

Shetty was arrested by CBI yesterday along with Manoj Kharat and Hemant Bhatt for his involvement in the Rs 11,000 crore scam that has rattled the entire banking system.

The Times Now report further added that Shetty shared the password with Hemant Bhatt who was authorised signatory for Nirav Modi’s companies.

The scam was unearthed when Shetty retired from his position at PNB and requests for renewal of LoUs were not honoured.
