DANVILLE — Police arrested a 36-year-old Danville woman on suspicion of bank robbery and at least one other charge Tuesday afternoon.
Around 9:10 a.m., a person wearing black-colored shirt and pants, sunglasses and a camouflage-patterned backpack walked into Bank of the West, 307 Diablo Road, and handed a teller a note demanding money, police said.
Witnesses told police the person appeared to be male, and about 5-foot-8 with a slender build. No firearm or weapon was displayed.
The teller complied, and the person fled north along El Pintado Road and was last seen near the Diablo Road intersection.
Police released images of the robber taken from surveillance video, and began an investigation that led them to arrest Jennifer Rae McClary on suspicion of bank robbery and possession of a controlled substance.
McClary was booked into Martinez county jail, where she was held early Tuesday evening on $100,000 bail, county records show.
