GRAND RAPIDS, MI — Police are investigating a bank robbery in Southeast Grand Rapids.
Officers were dispatched shortly after noon Tuesday, Jan. 16, on a report of a robbery at Macatawa Bank, 2440 Burton St. SE.
Police said the man, believed to be in his 50s, entered the bank and provided a note to a teller demanding money. Officers did not comment if he got away with any money, but said no weapons were seen.
No injuries were reported at the bank, and no arrests were made. Police believe the man might have fled the scene in a burgundy sedan.
Tuesday’s robbery was the second in four days at a Macatawa Bank location in Grand Rapids.
Police responded around 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 13, to a robbery at Macatawa Bank, 3177 Knapp St. NE. In that incident, police said a man demanded money from an employee and fled with an undisclosed amount of money.
Grand Rapids Police Sgt. Catherine Williams said investigators are looking into the two robberies to determine if they are connected.
