The winning Powerball numbers for Saturday’s estimated $338 million jackpot are: 3, 9, 21, 41, 54. PowerBall is 25 and Powerplay 4x.
The Powerball jackpot drawing can be watched at 10:59 p.m. on WABC-7 in the New York City area and Fox 29 in the Philadelphia area. NJ.com will publish the winning numbers and payout immediately after the drawing.
The drawing, which has a cash option of $209.1 million for a single winner, is the 22nd largest jackpot in U.S. lottery history.
A Powerball grand prize was last won more than two months ago. A person from Arizona who chose to remain anonymous hit the $60 million jackpot on April 1. The winner chose the cash option — $36.4 million before taxes were deducted. Since then, 16 drawings have been held without a ticket being sold that matched five numbers and the Powerball.
On Wednesday, no one even won the second prize of $1 million.
The most recent $1 million Powerball prize won in New Jersey came May 10 when a ticket sold at a Dover gas station matched five numbers but not the Powerball.
Saturday’s jackpot is about the same amount as it was when Pedro Quezada, then of Passaic, purchased the only jackpot winning ticket for a $338.3 million drawing on March 23, 2013. At the time it was the largest lottery prize won in the state.
Last year, a Pearlie Mae Smith of Trenton and her seven adult children shared a $429.6 million Powerball jackpot.
The odds of a $2 ticket hitting the jackpot are 292,201,338 to 1. A player also has an approximately 1 in 11,688,053 chance to match five numbers but not the Powerball.
The twice-weekly game is played in 44 states, Washington, D.C., the U.S. Virgin Islands and Puerto Rico.
