We’re coming back round to that time again where we might start finding out more about the PlayStation Plus lineup.
Sony has a pretty set formula, where they like to reveal their latest collection of PS Plus games in the last week of the month.
This is usually followed by the games going live in the first Tuesday of the month.
So there’s a chance Sony will reveal their PlayStation Plus August 2017 games lineup in the coming days.
The tech giant never give a countdown to when the news will break, although leaks do regularly occur before the official announcement.
Sony opted to reveal this month’s roster of titles on Wednesday, June 28, so something could be being planned for Wednesday, July 26.
So far, there have been no leaks or early announcements providing some clues as to what the full lineup will be.
This week saw the launch of the free-to-play version of Orcs Must Die: Unchained on PS4, along with a PlayStation Plus July bonus.
Orcs Must Die is a tower defense title, including three-player team-based gameplay where players must slay the invading hordes to protect their Rift.
Defeating the invading armies gives you the chance of collecting and upgrade traps, traits, and other powerful items.
There’s also a PlayStation Plus incentive for those who do download the new tower defense experience on PS4.
In celebration of the release, PlayStation Plus players who install Unchained can jump-start their orc-smashing careers with a package of in-game currency, skins, consumables, and more.
Valued at more than $20, this bundle is free for Plus members until August 17.
The PS4 v Nintendo Switch battle has been won by Sony’s hugely popular console for the second straight month.
Sales research from the NPD group shows the PS4 beating the Nintendo Switch in the US charts.
PS4 sales were drive by the new PS4 Slim, which came in a swanky gold colour scheme and fitted with a 1TB hard drive, according to Gamespot.
NPD did not give sales figures for June, but’s it the second month in a row that the PS4 has beaten the Nintendo Switch in America.
In Japan, the PS4 beat the Nintendo Switch during the last week in June and the first week in July.
However, for Switch fans fearing that Nintendo’s hybrid console is losing ground to the PS4 there’s little reason for concern.
The Nintendo Switch has been consistently selling well since its launch in March, with it in high demand across the world.
The only thing that has been holding it back is stock shortages – with it regularly seen sold out at retailers.
Games developer Rockstar recently unveiled their latest content for the GTA 5 Online Gun Running expansion on PS4, Xbox One and PC.
Dataminers discovered earlier this year that some old vehicles were set to get a new lease of life as part of Rockstar’s summer plans.
And as confirmed by the studio today, The Technical has been given a big upgrade, now coming complete with new customisable armour options.
“Originally introduced with Heists, the turret-mounted Karin Technical has reemerged from the seedy backwoods, deadlier and more customisable than ever before,” a message from Rockstar explains.
“Upgrade the Karin Technical in your Mobile Operations Center’s Vehicle Workshop Module to bolster your armor and get access to a mountain of new modifications.
“Enlist the help of your Bunker research technicians to unlock even more firepower, livery and armor options. After upgrading to the Karin Technical Custom, store your beefed up war machine as a Personal Vehicle in one of your personal Garages.”
As mentioned above, one of the biggest changes is that the Technical can now be stored in Personal Garage, a big change from the usual random map drop.
Rockstar have also announced that Arms Manufacturing is now boosted by 25% through July 24th, so keep an eye on your Stock levels to move more product and maximize profits.
A new 25% off the following items has also been announced:
- Phantom Wedge (both standard and SecuroServ trade prices)
- Vehicle Armor
- Bullet Proof Tires
