Punjab National Bank: Market Now: Nifty PSU Bank index top loser among sectoral indices; UBI, PNB among top drags

NEW DELHI: The Nifty PSU Bank index was trading as the top loser among the sectoral indices on NSE in Tuesday’s trade.

The Nifty PSU bank index was trading 1.28 per cent down at 3,818 around 10:30 am (IST).

Shares of Union Bank of India (down 3.23 per cent), Andhra Bank (down 1.99 per cent), Punjab National Bank (down 1.86 per cent), Allahabad Bank (down 1.67 per cent), Syndicate Bank (down 1.43 per cent), IDBI Bank (down 1.38 per cent), State Bank of India (down 1.38 per cent) and Oriental Bank of Commerce (down 1.29 per cent) declined over 1 per cent in the PSU bank index.

Bank of India (up 2.97 per cent) was the only stocks trading in the green in the index around that time.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was 16 points down at 10,347, while the BSE Sensex was 32 points down at 33,234.

Among the 51 stocks in the Nifty50 index, 21 were trading in the green, while 27 were in the red.

Shares of Axis Bank, Ambuja Cements, HCL Tech, Power Grid, Cipla and IndusInd Bank were among the top gainers in the Nifty50 index.

However, Bharti Infratel, Infosys, Coal India, Tata Motors, State Bank of India and Hindalco Industries were the top losers among the Nifty stocks.
