Robbery reported at La Grange bank

A La Grange bank at the intersection of 47th Street and Gilbert/Willow Springs Road was robbed at mid-day Monday of an undisclosed amount of money.

The La Grange Police Department reported that a man passed a note demanding money to a teller at Bank of America, 1425 W. 47th Street at 1:35 p.m.

No weapon was displayed and no threat of violence was made, according to a news release.

The teller told police the man got into a vehicle and left the area. No description of the vehicle or which way he fled was provided.

Police said the suspect is described as a white man, about 6-feet tall, and between 35 and 40 years old. He has a receding hair line and was wearing blue sunglasses, dark pants, a dark jacket and had bandages on his fingertips.

Police are asking anyone with information to call 911.
