The WWE Money in the Bank in 2017 will not only have the famed Money in the Bank Ladder Match, but will feature two, with the historic first-ever Women’s Money in the Bank Ladder match. Jinder Mahal will have his first title defense against Randy Orton at his hometown of St Louis, Missouri.
Here are the full match card and predictions:
Money in the Bank Ladder Match — AJ Styles vs. Kevin Owens vs. Shinsuke Nakamura vs. Dolph Ziggler vs. Sami Zayn vs. Baron Corbin:
Tough to call this one as the line-up is one of the strongest ever. Nakamura will be the crowd favourite and is the dark horse to win the match. Storyline wise it would seem Styles to might win this as he has no intertwined in any feud now. Owens being the United States champion means a challenger will emerge for him in the match. Zayn and Corbin are set for a collision throughout the summer. That leaves out Ziggler and it could be interesting to see if the Show-Off can get hold of the briefcase once more.
Women’s Money in the Bank Ladder Match — Charlotte Flair vs. Becky Lynch vs. Natalya vs. Carmella vs. Tamina Snuka:
Everything to look forward to in this match. This is a match for Charlotte and Naomi to shine being the two most athletic women’s wrestlers in the entire WWE roster. Becky Lynch will be the crowd favourite, but it is tough to see the Irish Lass kicker putting on high risk spots. From the welcoming committee, Tamina Snuka could spring up a surprise, but my bet is Carmella, because she has picked up pin-fall victories over Naomi in the past weeks and with James Ellsworth on the side, she could climb up the ladder to take the brief case.
WWE Championship — Jinder Mahal (c) vs. Randy Orton:
A rematch for the WWE Championship finds itself not in the main event. The build-up to this has been weak, but going by what Orton has been harping about – not losing in his hometown – that might actually happen. Mahal has done reasonably well to get some good heel heat and only that prompts me to say that Mahal will retain the title with a dirty win (read as assist from the Singh brothers).
Tag Team Championship — The Usos (c) vs. The New Day
The Usos, with their Paranoia promo, are absolutely killing it. It would be a shame for them not to retain the title. The New Day have picked up wins since their return but not a clean win over the Usos. For this rivalry to work, the New Day will have to chase the title and logic will say the Usos gotta win this at MITB.
Women’s Championship — Naomi (c) vs. Lana:
Farce of a match really. Should have been at the Kickoff Show. The only thing to look forward will be Lana’s long awaited match. She has not had a singles match in the main roster but it will be a welcome sight to see her walk down the ramp, Naomi should take this one easily.
The Hype Bros vs. The Colons (Kickoff Show):
The return of Zak Ryder is the big thing here. The Hype Bros should make short work of The Colons. It will be interesting to see whether WWE decide to go with an angle for splitting Mojo Rawley and Ryder because for that they must take the loss.
